Intumescent Seals has, since its formation in 1982, developed a name for reliability - both for the standard ranges of fire and smoke seals and for the novel products we have designed and manufactured for our customers' specific requirements. This has been made possible by a programme of major investment in the research and testing facilities we have at our Cambridge site. Coupled with the range of intumescent materials we use in production, this means that we are streets ahead when it comes to finding solutions to new problems. This is just one of the reasons why leading fire door manufacturers choose Intumescent Seals. Our products protect people the world over - from the Surrey HQ of Sony UK to the new Chep Lap Kok airport in Hong Kong.

Intumescent Seals is part of the Dixon International Group Ltd of Cambridge in the UK. DIG is a leading manufacturer of specialised construction products and has been singled out by the Design Council with an award for innovative weather seals in 1968 and four Millennium Product awards in 1999 (for advances in intumescent technology). DIG is also an active contributor to the Design Council's Sharing Innovation Network. For example, we chaired the network's discussions on exporting and our paper on future trends in global trading was published by the Design Council in 2000. One of our online services was also selected as an example of best practice in the use of IT in a Case Study funded by the DETR, BRE and Building Centre. The findings were published in 2000 as part of the Construction Best Practice Programme.
