Intumescent Seals of Pampisford, Cambridge is the leading UK manufacturer of low cost intumescent fire and smoke seals for fire doors, fire-safety glazing, ventilation grilles and other apertures which require protection from the passage of smoke, fire and fumes. Thousands of our products are incorporated in fire doors throughout the UK and worldwide.

We are the only UK company to manufacture such a wide range of intumescent products so we not only have a more informed understanding of the technology, we are also streets ahead when it comes to the facilities we have available for developing, testing and manufacturing new products - from 'one-offs' to seals designed to meet the particular needs of manufacturers of fire doors, partitions and other products requiring fire resistant properties.

The Intumescent Seals Division was formed in 1980 as part of the Dixon International Group Ltd. Since it was founded over 40 years ago, the Group has been recognised by the Design Council on five occasions for its pioneering approach. In 1968, the range of draught and weather seals received a Council of Industrial Design Award. In 1999, the Design Council chose four of our intumescent seals to become Millennium Products. (The Design Council chose 1,012 Millennium Products, to represent the most innovative, leading edge products in the UK in 2000.) One of our intumescent seals was selected to join a British Council tour of international exhibitions, showcasing the UK's top 120 new products abroad during 2000 and 2001. We are also an active participant in the Sharing Innovation Network - a group of companies invited by the design Council to pool best practice, innovative ideas, experiences etc to share with a wider business and educational community in the UK.
