Therm-A-Foam intumescent foam is used mainly in expansion joints and cavities in the walls and floors of fire compartments.

Therm-A-Foam consists of single or multiple 10 or 20mm layers of fire retardant open cell foam, coated on each side with 2mm layers of flexible intumescent material. Therm-A-Foam is simply compressed and pushed into place - without any special preparation of the aperture or any fixing beign required. Therm-A-Foam compresses by up to 75% and it is held in place by friction.

Therm-A-Foam is suitable for use in

Structural expansion joints in fire resisting walls and floors.
Around ducting, pipework, cables and cable trays which breach fire walls and floors.
Sealing gaps in curtain walling or adjoining walls and floors.
Timber-framed constructions as a cavity barrier.

Therm-A-Foam has passed independent tests carried out in accordance with BS 476 : part 20 providing integrity for up to 4 hours in apertures from 10mm to 100mm wide (details available on request).
